The flood was a judgement - only one family was saved.
Just as God promised, the rain came and the floodwaters filled the earth.
The wrath of God could delay no longer.
The flood was so severe, nothing survived. But God remembered Noah. God rescued Noah, because he was a righteous man and he obeyed the Lord. Salvation was given to Noah, and everyone with him.
