GOD’S ARMOUR
EPHESIANS 6:11
SO THAT YOU WILL STAND FIRM AGAINST ALL THE STRATEGIES OF THE DEVIL
LAST WEEK we looked at the BELT of TRUTH
and the Helmet of Salvation
TODAY WE ARE LOOKING AT THE
SWORD OF THE SPIRIT & THE SHIELD OF FAITH
Now all the other pieces of armour are to protect - defensively
BUT the sword is a weapon to fight with
You need to know your Bible so that you can use it just like Jesus did when He was on earth
Rememeber just after He was batised by his cousin, he was lead into the wildnress by the Spirit
for 40 days - he never ate during those 40 days
Then when he was tired weak and hungry - satan made his move
Satan said if you are the son of God (attacking His identity - trying to bait him to prove who He is) then turn these rocks into bread
and Jesus response was - to fight back with SCRIPTURE -
It is written = Man can’t not live on bread alone but
Jesus was quoting from the book of Deuternomy - He knew what it said - and it was true - JESUS quotes the Bible
Satan makes 2 more attempts - and each time Jesus fights back with God’s WRITTEN Word - It is written.....
SO WE NEED TO MEMORISE GOD WORD - THE BIBLE
and use it like Jesus did
SO when the world tells you something - if you know your bible - you will recognise it is a LIE
check out the Bible - that is the TRUTH
In Hebrews - Paul says that the God’s Word is ALIVE and POWERFUL
It is sharper than any 2 edge sword
So one of God’s pieces of armour is FAITH
And faith described simply. Is believing in something you can’t see.
We can’t see Jesus in human form at the moment. But we believe in Him with all our heart, mind and soul
So wearing the invisible shield of faith means to believe so fiercely in Jesus that satan can’t tell you lies about your identity and your purpose in life.
This piece of armour is to Protect your heart when Satan shoot arrows of lies at you.
Put up your shield of faith.
Because you KNOW that Jesus made you for a purpose and that he has a plan for you.
He knew you in your mother’s womb. He knit you together wonderfully and fearfully.
The shield of faith BLOCKS all of satans attacks.
So when you prayer put of the shield of Faith. Don’t believe Satan lies.
Knowing God’s word makes your shield stronger. Read your Bible
EXPERIMENT
YOU WILL NEED
2 NAARTJIES - ONE WITH PEEL & ONE WITHOUT PEEL
2 CONTAINERS WITH WATER - BIG ENOUGH FOR A NAARTJIE TO FIT COMFORTABLY INSIDE

Put the naartjie in the container
Then put the peeled Naartjie with no skin in the other container

PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus
Thank you for your word - the Bible
Please help me to read your word daily
so that I can use it as the Sword of the Spirit
Please protect me from Satan’s lies
Please deepen my faith so that I can stand my ground
