Acts 28

Saved by a Snake Bite

ACTS 28

In today’s lesson we see 2 things
1
GOD KEEPS HIS PROMISES
(He told Paul that he would get to Rome, (Acts 23:11)
and He told him all 276 people onboard would get to shore)
2
BAD THINGS CAN LEAD TO GOOD THINGS
They are shipwrecked and Paul is bitten by a snake
But when Paul doesn’t die - they realise that their gods aren’t as powerful as the Lord
and come to Paul for healing
So if they had not had been shipwrecked a whole island would not have heard about Jesus

Let’s look at how POWERFUL GOD is

So the Malta locals expected Paul to die after he is bitten by a viper

WHY DIDN’T PAUL DIE
Because God had promised Paul that he would get to Rome.

But then why did God allow Paul to be bitten in the first place?
I think it was to show the people of Malta island a miraculous sign. So that they would turn away from their gods and listen to Paul about Jesus. And hopefully accept Jesus and be saved!
