THEIR HEARTS WEREN’T FOR THE LORD

They had a position of power and they misused it.
They were Eli’s sons. They served as priests in the Tabernacle.
But they did not love the Lord.

They even took the Ark of the covenant out of the Tabernacle and took it to battle as a good luck charm!
They thought it they carried it with them, that God would be with them
BUT GOD ISN’T IN THINGS - GOD LIVES IN HEARTS

Well the LOST the battle and Phinehas and Hophni died too.
Then the Philistines STOLE the ARK!
When poor old Eli heard this, he fell off his chair and died!
