Israel’s God verses the Philistine’s false god
RECAP:
Last week we learnt how the Phinehas & Hophni misused the Ark
and took it into battle as a good luck charm.
THAT DID NOT WORK OUT FOR THEM. They died.
But the Philistines captured the Ark and placed it in the temple
of their false god that they worshipped
DAGON
1 Half man & half fish
3 The next morning they found Dagon fallen on his face before the Ark of the Lord!
5 This time dagon fell and his head and hands had broken off!
2 They put the ARK in Dagon’s Temple
4 They put him back in his place,
but the next morning…
6 The Lord also made the people of ASHDOD sick, so the moved the Ark to GATH, but they got sick too. So next it moved to EKRON, but they people got sick too.
