HOW PAUL SUFFERS FOR JESUS

But the Lord said to Ananias,

1 I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”
IN CHAPTER 2 HOUSEHOLDS GET BAPTISED
& PAUL REJOICES IN THE LORD DESPITE HIS CIRCUMSTANCES
ACTS 16
v 14 At PHILIPPI, Paul & Silas go to a river to PRAY
They find a group of women, among them was a lady named LYDIA
She worshipped the Lord
And the LORD opened her heart when Paul was speaking
v 15 And she and her household were BAPTIZED
ACTS 16: 16
PAUL & SILAS IN PRISON
WHY DO PAUL & SILAS GET THROWN IN PRISON?
They are met by a slave girl who has a spirit of telling the future.
(She made lots of money for her owners this way)
And she followed Paul for days, shouting out
”These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved ”
(v 18) PAUL COMMANDED THE SPIRIT TO COME OUT OF HER
It did so immeditely
WHICH MADE HER OWNERS FURIOUS
as she could no longer tell the future and make money for them
THE OWNERS GRABBED PAUL & SILAS
and dragged them to the market place to the Roman authorities
A MOB THEN JOINED IN THE ATTACK AGAINST PAUL & SILAS
They were STRIPPED
BEATEN with RODS
AND THROWN IN JAIL

Philippians 4.4-7
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all.
