In today‘s lesson we hear that the Israelites
want a human king!
THEY DON’T WANT GOD AS THEIR KING

The people told SAMUEL that he was old and that his children weren’t good.
That they wanted what other nations had….
A HUMAN KING

That made SAMUEL sad.
He prayed to God and God told him to listen to the people
and to WARN them about kings

Human kings weren’t always good, they would make the Israelites life HARD
The king will take their best land, their cows, sheep, goats, donkeys and camels
He would make them work hard and make them slaves AGAIN

BUT THEY STILL WANTED A KING

Why did this make Samuel sad?
Because the people didn’t choose God as their King
they wanted a human king
