THE WIDOW’S OFFERING
Mark 12:41-44

Sometimes people do the right thing for the wrong reason. Sometimes people do good things to get noticed by other people. This is proud behavior, and it makes God sad. What makes God happy is when we do things that are pleasing to Him, like giving cheerfully. Because what does God love? God loves a cheerful giver! Our story today is about a lady who cheerfully gave everything she had. Let's read this story right from the Bible.

Read Mark 12:41-44 (The Widow's Offering)

Discussion Questions:
1. When Jesus was sitting across from the offerings, what was He doing? (He watched as people gave offerings; He saw what people gave.)
2. What did many rich people give? (Large amounts.)
3. What did a poor widow give? (Two small copper coins, worth less than a penny.)
4. Who did Jesus say gave more, the rich people or the poor widow? (The poor widow.)
5. How could the poor widow have given more than the rich people? (The rich had a lot of money and gave a small portion of it, whereas the widow gave everything she had to live on.)
6. Besides money, what else can we give to Jesus? How can we give it all to Jesus? (Allow for answers.)
